Yasmine Levi-Ellentuck

Israeli soprano Yasmine Levi-Ellentuck began her musical education at the age of seven, studying the piano. She very quickly discovered her love of singing and focused on her vocal studies. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. She won first prize in the Concerto Competition which gave her the opportunity to live in Germany and study at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe for six months. She also won the first prize in the Academy’s Mozart competition. Among her Israeli credits are the second soprano solo in the Mass in C Minor by Mozart, Schumann’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in A Flat Minor and the soprano part in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. Yasmine performed the soprano part in Britten’s War Requiem with an international orchestra in a gala concert at the Israeli Opera and broadcast worldwide on “Mezzo” in June 2008.

Upon graduating, Yasmine became a member of the Israeli Opera's Opera Studio where her repertoire included The First Lady in The Magic Flute (Mozart), the mother in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck) and Tatiana in Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky). She also sang in main stage productions in the Israeli Opera including the part of Annina in La Traviata and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica.

 

Yasmine is a regular participant of the IVAI Opera workshop in Tel Aviv, where she has sung the roles of Erste Dame in Zauberflöte and Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. She also performed as the Marschallin in the “Rosenkavalier trio” and Massenet’s “Pleurez Mes Yeux” at a gala concert with the Israeli Chamber Orchestra.

 

She has won scholarships from the Ronen Foundation NY, the America Israel Cultural Foundation, the Israeli Vocal Arts Institute, the Buchman-Hayman Foundation and the Baden-Württemberg Stipend.

 

Yasmine recently moved to New York in order to pursue her Masters in Opera at the Brooklyn College Music Conservatory, with renowned voice teacher Patricia Mccaffrey. Her recent performances include the roles of The Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, The Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, and her Carnegie Hall debut, in a concert sponsored by WIZO.

 

In May Yasmine will be singing the role of Giorgetta in Il Tabarro (Il Trittico) with Brooklyn College Opera.
