Brooke Dircks, soprano

Lauded for her “impressive and youthful sound,”  Maryland-born soprano Brooke Dircks was recently awarded a grant from the Wagner Society of New York.   In 2017 she placed third in the Meistersinger competition in Graz, Austria and also received an Encouragement Award in the 2017 New Orleans MONC District auditions.   She has performed the roles of Miss Jessel, Turn of the Screw at the Miami Music Festival , Lady Billows Albert Herring, and Waltraute Die Walküre at New England Conservatory.   In 2018 she joins Pittsburgh Festival Opera as a Featured Artist, singing the role of Freia in Das Rheingold.  Ms Dircks studies with Jane Eaglen at New England Conservatory where she is the recipient of the Bertha C. and Edward Rose Scholarship as well as a Presidential Distinction scholarship.
