Cuban American Mezzo-Soprano Zaray Rodriguez is quickly making her mark as a young artist in operatic and concert work. Ms. Rodriguez has been a recipient of multiple grants and scholarships including Career Bridges Grant, Heida Hermanns International Vocal Competition, and the Society of Arts and Letters National Competition. Locally, Rodriguez has recently been seen performing the roles of Aunt Hannah Watkins in Emmeline, and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Boston University Opera Institute. This Spring she will be featured in the Opera Institute’s performances as Florence Pike in Albert Herring, and Geneviève in Pelléas et Mélisande. Rodriguez will continue to make her debut as Carmen with Parkway Concert Orchestra and this summer, she returns to Aspen Music Festival to perform the role of Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti.
