Excerpt from the New York Times review of the 2004 Winners Concert:

"The next winner was Claudia Huckle, a 21-year-old mezzo at an earlier point in her career. She at first seemed less comfortable on the Met's stage, but whatever nervousness she may have felt could not disguise an appealingly warm and dusky voice in "Che farò senza Euridice?" from Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice." In her second aria, "Furibondo spira il vento" from Handel's "Partenope," she seemed more assured, negotiating this tempestuous music with nimble technique."

Jeremy Eichler, The New York Times, March 23, 2004
