These singers appeared in the Finals Audition Concert on the stage of Jordan Hall on Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2001. They werejudged by John Fisher, representing the Metropolitan Opera.
The first place prize is $5,000 ($4200 from the Patrons of New England and $800: The Mrs. Edgar Tobin Award).
The second place prize is $4,500 ($3,900 from the Patrons of New England and $600 from the Metropolitan Opera National Council).
The third place prize is $4,000 (each winner is awarded $4,000 —$3,600 from the Patrons of New England and $400 from the Metropolitan Opera National Council).
All non-placing finalists received a stipend of $1,000.
