These singers appeared in the Final Audition Concert on the stage of Jordan Hall on Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2003. They were judged by Christopher Hahn, representing the Metropolitan Opera.

 

The first place prize is $5,000 ($4,200 from the Patrons of New England and $800: The Mrs. Edgar Tobin Award).

 

The second place prize is $4,500 ($3,900 from the Patrons of New England and $600 from the Metropolitan Opera National Council).

 

The third place prize is $4,000 ($3,600 from the Patrons of New England and $400 from the Metropolitan Opera National Council).

 

John Moriarty Encouragement Award (annual): $2,000.

 

All non-placing finalists receive a stipend of $1,000, which includes the $300 from the semi-finalist stipend.

 

All semi-finalists receive a stipend of $300.
