Elizabeth Kennedy

New England Second Place Winner, 1995

In the 2014-2015 season Elizabeth Kennedy was Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Salt Marsh Opera in Old Saybrook, Ct.; she also joined The Glass Menagerie Chorus in New York City for music of Fauré and Brahms.

 

A 1995 graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Elizabeth was also a fellow at the Tanglewood Institute that year. Starting in 2008, Elizabeth was for many years a member and then Extra Chorister at the Metropolitan Opera. Early roles in opera included Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi and Adele in Die Fledermaus with the Natchez Festival of Music, where she was a Resident Artist for two seasons, La Cugina in Madama Butterfly with Boston Lyric Opera, Pamina in The Magic Flute with Opera unMet, Gretel in Hänsel and Gretel with Longwood Opera, and the Foreign Princess in Rusalka with Symphony ProMusica. She also made concert appearances in the Gardner Museum’s Young Artist Showcase and with the Boston Chamber Ensemble.

 

Elizabeth was a founding member of enCANTA Collective, an New York City ensemble dedicated to performing multicultural works of vocal chamber music. She has been an avid performer of twentieth and twenty-first century works of composers such as Arthur Berger, Robert di Domenica, Lori Laitman, Libby Larsen and Elliot Carter.
